Anchors

This morning as I was reading in Hebrews, I noticed my Bible's commentary stating that "an anchor is only as secure as that to which it is fastened." It occurred to me then: Hope and faith are like anchors; they are only as sure or stable as the rock to which they are connected. That is why having faith in faith is like having an anchor without a rock. It is what our whole culture is doing, but it will not get us through a storm. Thank God we have a sure and steadfast anchor in Jesus.

Hebrews 6:19-20:
"This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever..."
